Why We Moved

It doesn’t seem like that long ago that we moved our blog to WordPress. Okay, it wasn’t that long ago (7 months, to be exact).

So, why did we move again?

We have several reasons for doing this, and we also want to take you on a little “journey” around our new site. First, why we moved:

1. We have our own domain name. No more .blogger or .wordpress at the end of our site. Enjoy just typing in www.faughnfamily.com. Having this actually helps in search engines.

2. We can make the site look any way we wish. The free version of WordPress restricts what can be done to the site. On this new site, we can customize just about anything we wish. We will try not to go overboard, but we hope you enjoy the many different features. This should make the site more interactive.

3. We can make a little money (or make our money back). This new site is not free, so we have added a few Google ads and a Google search bar to help you and us. We hope these are not intrusive. Each time you click on an ad or use the Google custom search (both on the right-hand-side), we make a few pennies (literally, pennies!). This helps us pay for the hosting of our site.

Each time you visit, please take a moment and click on the ads or use the Google search. We are actually counting on that to pay for the site.

In addition to that…

  • If you have an event, book, or something else you wish to promote with an advertisement on our site, we are going to allow that. We have the final say, of course, as to what goes “up,” but you may contact us at adfaughn AT gmail DOT com to share your ideas and to see what we will charge. Trust us, it’s not much!

We hope you love our new site, and we hope it is a great help to many people. We will try not to move again anytime soon!
