Friday Links Roundup: Bobcats, Gaels and Racers Edition

Was yesterday the greatest opening day of the NCAA tournament of all time? It’s hard to say it wasn’t. Upsets all over the place. Buzzer-beaters in several games. A 2-seed that barely survived. Three games into overtime. Needless to say, I’m a bit tired, but ready for more today!

We’re in Kentucky for a singing tonight at the Central church of Christ in Paducah. Tomorrow, we’ll be going to the Briensburg church of Christ for a leadership workshop. Both of these are great events that we try to attend each year. If you’re in the area, you’d do well to attend either or both!

On to the links for this week:

1. Since this is a time with so much for entertainment, including the basketball tournaments, I thought one of Neal Pollard’s articles this week was very timely. Enjoy “Odd Amusement.”

2. I try not to do much political stuff on our blog, but an article from Albert Mohler this week was too good to pass up in our roundup. With the debate raging over the health care bill, Christians should be more appalled by the abortion part of any legislation than the cost. Read “This is Life We’re Talking About.”

3. It bothers me how hard some parents “push” their children to succeed in sports and other activities. Robbie Mackenzie shares some thought-provoking words in his post “Does It Really Matter?” Parents, read this one with an open mind.

4. Are you tired? Do you struggle to get everything done you feel needs to get done in a day? While not necessarily a spiritual article, you will find this post from Michael Hyatt helpful. Enjoy “10 Reasons Why You Aren’t Done Yet.”

We hope you have a great weekend! If you are in or near Western Kentucky, we hope you’ll stop in at one of the great events here.

No matter where you are, we hope you’ll remember the Lord on His day.
