Friday Links Roundup: Conservation Edition

For most of this week, Davidson County (where Nashville is located) and some surrounding areas have been under a water conservation plan. The recent flooding has left our water supply safe but running low (ironic, don’t you think?). The last time I saw an update, the reserves were low, but holding. Residents of Nashville and surrounding areas have done an amazing job in helping in the wake of this storm and flooding. The number of volunteers is countless. We at Lebanon Road will be distributing supplies for churches of Christ Disaster Relief on Monday, as the recovery continues.

I’ll be heading to Henderson, Kentucky for the Enlighten youth rally this weekend. If you are in that area, we hope you’ll stop by and see the good work the church there does.

On to the links for this week:

1. Chris Gallagher cheated! Last week, we linked to his article on “Musts” in congregational leadership, which was great. Well, this week, he listed “5 Must NOTS in Congregational Leadership,” which is just as good. Enjoy.

2. I have two posts this week that deal with the recent flooding that I thought you might find interesting. The first comes from Thom Rainer, the CEO of Lifeway. Read his story and reaction to the flooding at his house.

3. Finally, a post that has made the rounds this week. Probably 100 or more sites have already linked to this, but in case you haven’t seen it, here it is. Enjoy reading “We are Nashville,” a post that has inspired T-shirts and other materials around the city during the cleanup efforts.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend. We hope you have a great Mother’s Day!

Also, no matter where you are, we hope you’ll remember the Lord on His Day.
